Epic Tower: Aura Condos sister project
In a revelation not unlike finding out that Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's dad, Aura Condos has a sister property called Epic Tower in the "pre-construction prerelease phase." Maybe it was more like Luke finding out that Leia was his sister. Anyway, a Whois check shows that both web sites were registered by the same person, so this appears to be legit. I haven't seen anything in the Bee or Business Journal about this, so let's hope one of those "old media" reporters does some legwork, because some guy with a website is, erm...too busy.
Also, Aura Condos has a new rendering on their web site that looks less weird baby toy and more Vancouver condo. Cool!
St Anton and the Cordano family have also proposed a 23-story condo tower on the south side of 10th and J

Between these two projects, that would clean up the worst block in downtown. Considering the proximity to Cesar Chavez and K Street, they could really make a big impact downtown, along with the under construction Plaza Lofts at 9th and J

Sugit,
That's great info and you're right - that block of J Street could really use some help. Let's hope Aura is succesful so we get that stretch cleaned up. Thanks!

The Epic Tower is supposed to be on the north side of 10th and J. I really hope it happens because that block of downtown is probably the most blighted and it would really help clean it up.
BNC (the developer) is planning on doing Aura first though, and Epic after that if it is succesful.

I dunno, that Aura picture looks a lot like something out of Minority Report.
As for the Epic, it may be because it's in the pre-everything stage that we haven't heard more about it yet. I don't even know where it is supposed to be.
